Quiet News Weeks Testament to Outpost’s Success

They say no news is good news, and things have been pretty good for Dok Refurinn Outpost throughout the summer. While the outpost has kept out of the headlines, life has indeed been good for the souls who call the distant world home as well as those who pay a port of call to the Hengeyokai outpost.

Traffic though the system has been high throughout the summer months and into the fall, with commercial traffic outstripping many systems of similar sizes. Many credit the system’s commerce friendly regulations and reasonable tax and tariff structure as contributor to this success.

The stable political and security situation is also cited by many visitors as an important factor in their choosing to conduct business in the system. While many systems are making news with their military activity, constant disasters and sicknesses, or  a crackdown by security forces, Dok Refurinn benefits from the stability and security of the Protectorate, while being far enough from the other worlds to remain an attractive port of call for traders  throughout the rim.

Many first time visitors have trouble reconciling the stable, but open nature of life at the outpost and either mistake the presence of security as overbearing, or the personal and commercial freedoms as some kind of unregulated anarchy. The reality is, the Administration is working a constant balancing act, weighing colonists’ personal freedoms against the common good of providing for a stable, prosperous world for colonists safety and security.

As the outpost moves into the final quarter of the year, its fortunes seem as bright as ever. With the Samhain Ball scheduled for the end of October and several social events scattered over the next few months, life at the outpost is sure to be busy.
