The Outpost’s Ostara Moot, held on the Traditional Vernal Equinox was well attended by colonists and visitors. The event garnered a much different guest list than the Winter Ball held last month.
With the Moot’s often raucous reputation as an ‘orgy’ to misinformed outlanders, arriving guests seemed ready to strip down to their birthday suits and ‘get jiggy with it’ as one intrepid visitor commented.
While the Outposts Hengeyokai Sentai did not disappoint with the accommodations and entertainment, many of the guests ended up being “all talk and no action.” While several of the guests finally got around to doing the ‘rumpy bumpy’, the event was far less outrageous than the rumor mill speculated.
When asked to comment on the event, Gaian’an Casidhe had this to say, ” the sex?, well often that aspect of our celebrations gets over hyped by the Outlander media. In reality, the coupling of souls is just something, natural, that happens to our people when they are among friends and kin. I suppose in many ways, we approach the subject defiantly than most cultures, and don’t see the big deal, when a pairing occurs at a Moot. In the end, its really the social ineptitude of many cultures, that causes the friction in relationships, they become less about passion or trust, and more about control.”
Perhaps the Administrator is onto something, as an early social miscue nearly erupted into a brawl as Captain Jaegen Fenris got into an altercation with a visiting Chiss female.
As for the local Sentai, Gaian’an Casidhe spend much of the Moot in the company of the Khan’s daughter, Pearl Falane while her sire and owner of Luna Bar, Shyaa Falane enjoyed the pleasures of the Sentai’s newest ascended Hengeyokai, Elishandra Draconis, of Clan Dragon. While, in Shyaa’s words the event, ” ensures a new crop of Hengeyokai come the winter solstice,” it is unlikely that any such couplings would be as productive as last Ostara Moot, where it is widely reported that Khan Jubilynn’s son, and Pearl’s half brother Dax was conceived.
The Moot lasted well into the early morning, as the more reserved guests wandered off, leaving a smaller, ‘audience’ for the more adventurous to finally getting into the spirit of the evening.
The Sentai plans to host a more moderate Beltane celebration in the coming season.
