The Traditional Samhain Costumed Celebration was held throughout the Protectorate on the last day of October.. A traditional celebration marking the changing of the seasons, the end of the ‘harvest’ and the transition to the “Dark half” of the year. While the seasons vary from system to system, the Hengeyokai still hold the celebrations on the Traditional days, according to the Pan-G calendar.
Dokk Refurinn held its costume ball at the colony’s amphitheater, marking the first public event at the ancient site. Colonists and regular visitors donned festive costumes and celebrated the evening with dancing and drinking. Administrator Casidhe Sionnach oversaw her first public festivities
While not as large as the Khanate Capital Botany Bay’s celebration, Administrator Sionnach seemed pleased with the event’s turn out, “I’m not interested in competing with other worlds in some, intergalactic popularity contest, our social events, are for our people, not outlanders seeking some sort of… momentary entertainment. ” The Administrators statement supports the long held policy, of focusing on the Khanate’s colonists and established visitors over diluting the Protectorate’s culture to appeal to ‘the masses’.
The celebration marks the end of a quiet fall season in the Dokk Refurinn sector, with little news having trickled out of the outpost. Sources state that the Administration has been keeping a low profile with efforts focused on the ongoing Ranger operations deep in the Tri Galaxies as well as exploration of the Gate Network in the sector.
While the Administration has been quiet, private sector development in the Dokk refurinn system has quietly continued, with the expansion of Fenris Shipyard, Valentine Station and the Orbiting of S.O.L Station. Several vessels have also made long term orbit as well, taking advantage of the Outposts location and resources.
