While preparations in support of operations on Is Heim continue, the Outpost continues ongoing missions and support activities. Exploratory Away Teams recently visited several worlds to Explore and catalog the conditions, and make contact with local inhabitants.
Made up of Colonists and Colonial Rangers, E.A.T.s are the primary means new gate addresses are explored and cataloged. Two of the more interesting recent Missions are detailed below:
The world of Xegul is typical of once great worlds that have been lost to chaos and the ages. The Astria Portia is located in a large marketplace, selling the various sundry items found though out the verse. Leaning towards the less respectable spectrum of trade, the market was well stocked, but lightly trafficked. The presence of astromechs and other off world merchandise and tenchnology would indicate regular off world contact.
The team was directed by some locals to a large complex just off the market. The facility, which was guarded by some traps, appeared to once have been a large library, and was found to still contain thousands of books, paintings and other cultural artifacts.
This vault of learning, was currently being utilized by some sort of pirate or local brigands as a base of operations. Though no ‘hostiles’ were found present, evidence of their activities was abound, with many devices for slave taking, and training, as well as cargo that appeared stolen were found by the team. The extensive prison and slave training facilities showed recent use.
The facility also has extensive underwater access, showing evidence of use by a aquatic or semi-aquatic race. The team took random samples of the books and tomes, to asses for cataloging and further recovery, returning to Dokk Refurinn with no further incidents.
Isle of Wyrms
PF7-425 is a two gate system. Upon Dialing, the EAT found itself half at the alpha gate, and half at the beta gate. The teams were able to communicate via long distance communications, and thus began to explore their respective areas. The world, know as Isle of Wyrms, is home to a vast tome of knowledge on the Race of Dragons.
Home to a massive temple to Dragon, the team spent several hours exploring the temple and nearby village. While no Dragons were encountered during the extended visit, the local townspeople were welcoming and friendly. The team did encounter a single awakened species, in a Griffin, who conversed with the team for some time.
The teams were eventually able to link up at the alpha gate. Future visiting teams should know that the beta gate is far above the world on a floating construct.
The grandeur of the Dragon Temple should not be under-estimated. The team was impressed with the structure. Within, a detailed tome on the various races of Dragon was discovered. Further study is highly recommended and the discovery has been reported to the Khan by colonial administration.
The team returned to Dokk Refurin with out incident.
